Lighting of Breckenridge & Race of the Santas
A full day on Main Street: the Holiday Dog Parade (more than 700 dogs expected), the Race of the Santas (a mile run in Santa suits, 1,000 or more runners), the children’s Moose March and a bigger Winter Holiday Market. The Lighting is at 5 p.m., when about 250,000 holiday lights come on.

The 36th championships. Teams carve 12-foot, 25-ton blocks of snow by hand, with no power tools, during sculpting week (Jan 23–27). The finished sculptures stay on show through Feb 2.

Our Gilson TV camera looks down South Main Street toward Peak 8 around the clock. On Sat, Dec 5, 2026, the Race of the Santas and the 5 p.m. Lighting are on it, and so is the Ullr Fest parade (Dec 17–19). The snow sculptures by the Riverwalk Center are out of its view.
